Connect Telagus to ChatGPT and Claude

Telagus MCP in ChatGPT

ChatGPT calls a remote MCP server a plugin. Add the Telagus address once, sign in, and it is there in your chats — as long as developer mode is on.

1. Check your plan

  • Custom plugins need ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu.
  • On Business, Enterprise and Edu, an admin has to allow custom plugins first.

2. Turn on developer mode (required)

In ChatGPT's settings, open the plugins and connectors section and switch on Developer mode under Advanced.

Without it the plugin signs in and then does nothing: ChatGPT only offers a plugin's search and fetch tools, and Telagus has neither — it has CRM tools.

3. Add Telagus as a plugin

  1. Click Plugins in the left sidebar.
  2. Click the + beside the "Search plugins" box — not the one on Gmail, Slack and the rest, which adds those.
  3. Name: Telagus CRM
  4. MCP server URL:https://api.telagus.com/mcp/telagus
  5. Authentication: OAuth. Nothing else to enter.
  6. Confirm you trust the plugin and create it, then sign in to Telagus and approve access.

4. Use it

Ask in plain English, naming Telagus and the record you mean. Leads are what most people ask about:

Leads

  • "Which Telagus leads came in this month, and who are they assigned to?"
  • "Show me lead 1043 — contact, company and current status."
  • "List my open leads with no activity in the last 14 days."
  • "How many leads are at each status in my pipeline?"
  • "Add a lead for Jane Doe at Acme Ltd and assign it to me."

The last one writes to your CRM, so ChatGPT asks before it does.

Tasks, projects, quotes and invoices work the same way — "show me task 42 with its sub-tasks", "which invoices are overdue?". Include the lead or task ID; without one you will be asked for it.

If something goes wrong

  • Connected, but nothing happens — developer mode is off.
  • No + beside the search box — your plan or your admin doesn't allow custom plugins.
  • Wrong or no data — check which Telagus account you signed in with.

Good to know

  • You only ever see data your own Telagus account can see.
  • Questions only read your CRM. Anything that creates, changes or sends asks for your approval first.
  • You never share your Telagus password, and you can cut the connection at any time by removing Telagus from ChatGPT or Claude.
